“Mpreg Birth Non-Shifter”

Hearing the banter between the two of them, I look over and smile before turning my attention back to cooking Tom’s sandwich.  Nearly a decade ago, I never would have thought of getting married, much less having children.  But now here I am; a loving husband, two beautiful children, and he’s giving me a third…  Didn’t think I’d ever be this lucky.

But he had to push either way, and as he did the baby moved down more. He spread his legs as wide as they could go, and he tossed his head back and screamed as the egg pushed it’s way out little by painful bits. He felt as though his babies would tear him in half before he could birth both the egg and his baby.

Title: Ghost Wolf Author: Hurri Cosmo Publisher: Painted Hearts Publishing Release Date: February 18, 2018 Genre(s): Paranormal Romance, Mpreg Page Count: 390 Reviewed by: Tosha Heat Level: 4.8 flames out of 5 Rating: 5 stars out of 5 Blurb: Hi, my name is Trevor. I’m a wolf shifter. I say that like I know what I’m talking about. I don’t. I was simply running off a ton of steam one…

“Shh, it’s ok, you’re doing great. Just a little bit more and we can meet our baby. Don’t you want to meet him? It won’t be long now I promise.” Jared peppered his face with soft kisses and wiped at the sweat.

Nine months after breeding season has ended for the nagas and several heavily pregnant nagas – male and female – could be seen moving about their territory. Many have already laid their eggs while others are still heavy with their unborn brood. As a young, mateless king, this is Adonis’s favorite time of the year, when so many nagas are heavy with eggs and babies.

Castiel held the being close to him once more before passing it to Dean, who felt his entire body warm up to the being. He never wanted to let go and he now knew he would do anything for this innocent creature. His children. He hadn’t thought or ever expected to have two but he wasn’t going to complain.

There was no blood in the water, so he hadn’t just had a miscarriage, but the feeling of the pain that had just happened wasn’t normal and it scared the new parent. Pumping his tail, he swam upward. Perhaps he needed to lay back with his legs up, and there was a tiny patch of rocks near where he was that would do the job.

This was a quick, interesting story with a great villain and a few nice twists. I liked the way Kit found himself influenced by the “support group” and unclear on his path forward; that felt very real. I wish we had seen more of Red Henry’s friendly, gregarious side (often commented on by others), he’s just kind of a burned out, drunken partyer when we first see him. I wavered between a three and a four rating because of one twist/turnaround that happened at the very end that I thought was entirely unlikely and just didn’t ring true. I would definitely be interested in reading more by this author.

Consequently, when the possibly highly romantic trope of bonding is drained of its consensual nature, it can become a squick, as the case for Mae (female, asexual, demiromantic, 15-18, USA): “Forced Bondings are the literal worse. The concept of heats, I can stomach. Knotting? Great. Mpreg? Even better. But I typically refuse to read fics, even for my OTPs, if one of them is forced into the bond. It’s a little different for arranged bondings between families where they rebel together and manage to fall for one another in the process, but full-on forced bonding is a no-go.”

Dean said nothing and sat behind Sam. Even though Dean was a demon at the moment (though Dean didn’t feel even an ounce of it in his body at the moment) Sam relaxed into Dean’s embrace. Well, as relaxed as one could be with having to push out a live human being.

“Oi you cant call me a brat, have you forgotten i’m older then you” you grinned. Levi tsk’d and looked away, ‘were his cheeks pink? or am I seeing shit?’ a bell rang in the background. “Shit! Levi we gotta get our asses moving or we’ll be late for club” quickly standing I grabbed Levi dragging him off to our after school club.

That is what I loved so much, that it’s not a quick read, there is background and we get to know these character. Starting with Braun, you can see the fear he has lived his entire life, and why he doesn’t want anything to do with finding an alpha. Oh my heart ached for this, so much. As an omega, he has been told his whole life he is a second class citizen, so easily thrown out like garbage. You can really see the parallels to this in real life and I think that is why my heart broke as it did. Because this actually happens today in our world.
