Which makes it so sad that I didn’t like this story as much as I thought I would. This is now the 2nd book this week that I’ve read by authors I love (and would follow to the end of the earth) where the story didn’t work for me. The first book was Wheels Up by Annabeth Albert. My issues are kind of the same with both books.
I love Omegaverse stories. In Saved, you can really feel the attraction and mating bond between Braun and Tarek. I absolutely fell in love with their relationship and the way it goes against the ‘norm’ of the Omegaverse society.
So essentially, cis men are used instead of trans men, which is fetishistic, but even when trans men are used, it’s nearly always fetishistic in how the characters and narrative are handled. […] In reality, mpreg doesn’t explicitly claim to be related to trans (or intersex) people, but it cannot be viewed outside of that context in a world where trans and intersex people are also displaced from our bodies and our realities by cis dyadic people, in a world where our body parts are literally objectified and fetishized and removed from our humanity. I literally don’t give a crap what anyone’s intent is, that’s the reality of it, that’s representation that harms trans and intersex people, and if people fail to realize that, then they’re harming trans and intersex people, categorically.
But cruel fate has other plans, and Jax and Kris find themselves pitted against one another in a professional—and emotional—battle that neither one is prepared to withstand. And when it becomes clear that there’s more at stake than just their careers, the anger and passion that threatens to consume them may end up changing the course of their professional and personal lives forever.
The Frenchman huffed and panted, greatful that some of the pressure had been relieved and that the hardest part was over. He lowered his head onto his lover’s hand that held his own securely. The assassin hadn’t stopped rubbing his back since the little incident. He was still nervous as hell, but for Spy’s sake, he refused to show it.
His belly was so big it made walking awkward and he had to waddle everywhere he went and he blushed whenever someone looked his way. Ikki didn’t care though as he loved Kyo even being so pregnant, knowing that they were going to be parents soon. Just a couple more months, he thought with a slight smile as the two walked (Or one walked while the other waddled) down the street and back home.
“I am quite literally a god,” Thor smirked, “It’s obvious who a good parent would be.” Loki rolled his eyes but barely looked up from his tome. Thor swiftly took the baby away from Tony. He spun around and beamed. “She’s such a beautiful child!” he cried merrily. Natasha looked skeptically at the others. “Thor, be careful,” Natasha warned him. Thor beamed at his friend, “Have no worries, Lady Natasha. I helped take care of Loki when we were children.”
Joel tutted as he checked his watch. 11.48pm. The man had been trying to push out the egg for a good 45minutes but it wouldn’t budge. He could see the man straining to birth the egg, spreading his legs obscenely and crying out as he pushed and fought against the contractions. Joel swirled the wine in his glass and took another sip as he contemplated going over to help the man.
Alois stood up as well walking over to the door he poked his head out looking down both ways. He could see Sebastian coming this way and his bright blue eyes brightened “Hey Sebastian! Can you help us out? Ciel needs to take a shower can you get it started?” Sebastian looked from Alois to Ciel stood behind him looking a bit scared and much weaker now. He placed his hand over his heart and bowed “I’ll come for you when it’s ready” with that he turned and left going to the bathroom and starting the shower. Alois turned to Ciel he knew this feeling all to well and felt sorry that Ciel had to experience it out of all the people in the world why did Claude chose Ciel?
Birthday Roses – Part 4Tia let out a low keening groan as the current contraction rushed through her, gripping the sheets of the bed over which she leaned. A part of her longed to lay down on the soft mattress, but the very thought of moving from her spot seemed impossible. She could focus only on the pain, hoping that concentration would help her get through it…
Not everyone has as passionate views about Omegaverse, mind you. Alice (female, straight, 25-30, UK) says, “I’m… ambivalent. I don’t hate it with a passion, I find it weird, but it’s no weirder than some of the other fanfic phenomenons that have cropped up before.”
Taryn doesn’t want to get saddled with an Omega when he’s too busy trying out for the Alpha Guard, the pack’s prestigious warriors. It’s been his dream to follow in his father’s footsteps ever since he was small. But it’s not up to him, and he’s paired with Rian.
“Hello there! Are you looking for someone?” You turn towards the voice to find a tall man with blonde hair. Not the tall blonde you’re looking for, but you assume that he may know of your boyfriends whereabouts.
Again it hit him, making him moan and roll over, the pains were coming in shorter lapses and they were stronger now. “Ahh….nnng….GAHHHHHH!!!” he arched his back letting out a scream of agony feeling a growing pressure in his stomach and ass. Panting heavily, he was finding it harder to catch his breath in between the pains. Alex had to keep his voice down he didn’t want anyone finding him in such a state but he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to do that. He scooted himself further onto the bed. Something was going to happen to him and wasn’t exactly sure what it was.

A nest is usually a place where an Omega can be comfortable, whether if he is in heat or just having a bad day. It can be a closet or a couch, a small room or a bed. It will usually be filled with soft things, the most smelling like his/her mate if they have one. It usually makes them feel comfortable in all times, even if they feel they are about to murder someone. With Omegas being the small fragile creatures they are, it can help them rest. As they get closer to their delivery date, they will most likely spend more and more time in their nest with their Alpha.
Karma has it in for Moswen. Trouble follows him around like a demented, faithful dog. Moswen never means for things to happen the way they do. It just does. And while things may seem bad at first, everything eventually works out for the best even if the road to getting there is a less than a smooth ride.
The blurb for this fired my imagination from the start. In a world where omegas are second-class citizens with few civil rights and almost no protections under the law. Bring it on I thought. I’m ready.
Karter and Jax’s story was so unique. In this third book of the series, the Omegas have continued momentum to obtain equal rights in this Alpha’s world. Karter’s views on Omegas are changing as he finds his mate. A twist, there is an unusual age difference (Omegas usually mate very young) between them and Jax has been mated before.
I absolutely Loved Aaron and Indigo’s story. Odin writes stories you can immerse yourself in. Aaron and Indigo meet through the Omega Date app. Indigo has been hurt by love before and reluctantly goes on the app hoping for a deeper connection. Aaron uses the app more for casual hook ups and doesn’t really believe in happily ever after. Their reasons for using the dating app aren’t the only differences between them. Indigo believes in the afterlife, spirits, ghosts and fate. Aaron is a skeptic and believes either that the psychics are at worst frauds cheating people out of their money or at best misguided or looney. He doesn’t believe in fate. When Aaron is sent to Indigo’s town to investigate the paranormal happenings and debunk them, he is surprised to find that Indigo is the son of the psychic. Can two people with vastly different views on the world around them find a way to be together? Will Aaron be the one who can help Indigo get over his past? Will Indigo be the one to make Aaron believe? Charmed Fates is about finding a way to be accepting of others differences and supporting someone unconditionally. With steamy sexy times and a wonderful story I totally recommend this book! I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of Charmed Fates.
With an impending battle between dragon and man, Scott is forced to make one of the most difficult decisions of his life. But can he give up everything that he knows on a chance at love with a creature from another world?
Castiel and Dean just stared at one another for a moment before Dean felt a wave of excruciating agony pour through his veins and wings and before he could comprehend anything, he was screaming, the pain unbelievable. He could feel his muscles start to flail out of control as what felt like lava poured through them.
The book was a slow read, and more often than not I felt forced to finish it out of pure obligation to see it through. Mostly it was filled with teenage angst coming from two men in their mid to late 20’s. It was a better read than most m/m shifter books out there since the author appears to edit and for the most part stay with the correct character. But it was missing the zest that I’ve grown accustomed to reading in other m/m romances.
The angel stayed seated in the same spot and thought over what the younger Winchester had said. If he was being honest a deep part of him and wished that Dean would be willing to have a family with him. Castiel had long ago accepted his feelings and knew that if Dean were his mate he would be happy for the rest of eternity. But, he also knew that Dean would never feel the same way he did, and why would he when he was so brave and bright and Castiel was nothing but a failure of an angel?
It’s probably a good thing that Dean doesn’t come along. It cuts the trip time in half, as Cas doesn’t have to keep steering Dean towards the produce and away from the deli meats. After Cas returns and stocks up their kitchen, he retreats to the bedroom to find Dean in the exact same spot. Still moody. Still pants-less. Still pregnant.
Or at least they didn’t in Dallas Summer’s world – until a nasty encounter in Central Park shatters that notion forever. Dallas finds his life flipped upside down when a sexy stranger knocks on his door.
Dean Mathews leads a normal, if boring life. His career, his home, his social life, none of it is really what he wanted for himself, but it’s the life he has nonetheless. A small coincidence brings him the opportunity to take ownership of his grandfather’s old farm, to bring the place under his wing and careful hand. This choice will lead him from his old life to face a host of new challenges, most of which he expected. The unforeseen comes in the form of Mikael Reed, a simple carpenter – with a few secrets.
Dean took a deep breath and decided he actually needed to rest somewhat. He was on the verge of passing out. He stared at the resting form in his arms and pressed his face into the light, warming his soul. He then turned his eyes to Michael, who instantly lit up and was over to him in a heartbeat, holding out his arms.

Though Amy did have a very feminine body; she often tried to hide her wide hips and bust with baggy pants. She never wanted to admit it, but of all the girls the witch picked, she was the one with the ideal body for having children. Her desire to be more masculine fought against her female hormones that come with pregnancy and childbirth. Part of her wanted to embrace this feminine side she had. Part of her was grateful for her feminine body shape and ability to create life.
As has become evident, Omegaverse can be both subversive as well as sexist/transphobic/homophobic at the same time. While it is understandable that some declare the genre “abhorrent” as a whole, a more differentiated view on this provides considerably more insight to the underlying discourses that fanfiction brings to the fore. It all hinges on several aspects – the fic in question, the reader’s attitude, etc. – so I urge everyone to consider this issue from multiple perspectives so you can draw a well-informed conclusion for yourself.
His omega must have tuckered himself out building this thing. Honestly, Jack was a bit surprised that Rhys had even had the energy to make a brand new nest, much less one this elaborate. The omega was nearly two weeks overdue and spent the majority of his days either napping or complaining about aches in his hips or the constant movement of the baby that was quickly running out of room in his womb. They had already gone to the doctor to see if something was up, but she had assured them both that being a little bit overdue wasn’t a big deal, and there was no need to try to medically induce the omega’s labor yet.
I shrieked from what was in front of my eyes. There were dead people in my house. As I slowly tried to go near one of them to see who they were, I saw a man with a chainsaw in front of my huge sliding window door.
Jensen just nodded and started the laborious task of shifting himself around on the seat. Half way through twisting round another contraction ripped through his belly, almost sending him tumbling out the open door.
