Drink While The Water Is Clean Seventeen- Joshua’s life flipped in a moment, the second he was determined to be the King’s new consort. The Gods he once prayed to where tossed aside as he found a new God, the most beautiful God the world had to offer. His body which had never once been touched, was now constantly caressed by pairs of hands that tugged and tugged on him until he gave away everything they asked of him. Where once before he never thought of committing sin, he now indulged in it happily since it brought smiles to his lovers faces. Joshua’s life changed within a moment; the moment he made a deal with a devil in disguise. (JYNXXX)
Without further ado, then, here are just some of my Omegaverse obsessions aka the roadmap of my descent into insanity. N.B.: My poison of choice in terms of fanfiction tends to be heavily Holmesian, most of these focus explicitly on Holmes/Watson pairings (Sherlock/John in the BBC!verse).
I really like how the story starts off and that Rian and Taryn’s situations are gradually introduced. However, their problems seem easily resolved not so soon after the fact. Talk about winning the luck lottery! Honestly, I was surprised that Rian’s infertility issue was not made into a bigger deal than what it was. Especially with the Pack Wars going on, getting married and procreation is a must in their society. Therefore, one would think that there would be some conflict at least between the parents (matchmaking) and the Council (pushes for births to build their Alpha Guard), but sadly no. I do wish that the author went into more detail about the Pack Wars and how they select their Council. I can only assume I will get the answers I need in the next book.
Ezra Tier has spent the better part of his life not giving a damn. He goes where he wants, does what he likes, and answers to no one. Leading a life as a globetrotting rogue has its perks, and for Ezra one of those perks has been the ability to pick up and move on whenever things get too complicated and messy. So when he encounters a simple mountain bear shifter with broad shoulders and a shy personality, it’s all Ezra can do to maintain his unattached persona.
Kuroshitsuji PregnantCiel took another sip of the tea washing the taste of vomit out of his mouth; Sebastian was starting to get the talent at making tea’s that removed the taste of vomit easily, which as much Ciel hated to admit it meant that he was starting to be sick a bit too often for it just being that he ate something bad.
Roaming Free is the third book in The Omega Date Diaries series. I continue to be amazed by Odin’s stories. I find along with the sexy times and love story that there is always something that speaks to me. In this story it is Taly’s personal struggles with his Wolf and the fact that he cannot control when or where he shifts. His mental connection with his Wolf is faulty and he shifts when he is too anxious, or too excited and he fears hurting someone so he stays away from others. ( For me Anxiety and Panics can sometimes feel like an out of control “wolf” taking over my body.) This story is full of Love, HEAT and Acceptance. Taly and Roam’s story is a real page turner. Make sure you have time and zero distractions because your going to want to read this book straight through! I highly recommend Roaming Free as well as the other books in this series! I wish I could have given more than 5 stars! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I have been intrigued by the idea of an omega and how he would integrate in a pack structure…as well as how a dominant personality could become omega…This story addresses both of those ideas, as well as how empowering such a relationship could be. I enjoyed this book thoroughly, and will definitely be looking for more! Thanks for a great read, Wolf…keep ’em coming!
“Oh fuck!” Sniper exclaimed. Colour drained from his face. Forget being shot, blown up, set on fire, or getting back stabbed several times, or even that one time he thought he might’ve caught chlamydia from a koala, THIS was the most terrifying thing the assassin had ever had to endure. There was a mad scramble to undo and pull down Spy’s trousers (or Soldier’s trousers that Spy had borrowed rather) before the next contraction.
I thought I could help him. Even though he was a bit clumsy, he made a good servant. But there was something more to him. Something I couldn’t quite place my paw on. It was like we were fated to be together.
It wasn’t an elaborate wedding. That costs too much, especially the outfits. A suit wouldn’t work with Sonic’s rounded belly. The dress would have had to be altered. Sonic told Shadow to forget about that.
“The fact that fans revert back to heteronormative plot lines despite a queered text only serves to demonstrate how powerful the reining hegemonic norms are and how deeply the male/female binary along with all its historically grown inequalities permeates the attitudes of every single person in societies socialised by Western/American mainstream media.” Taking a genre like Omegaverse that has the potential to subvert, as many fics prove, and re-inscribing it with unequal gender dynamics, etc, is not exclusively ‘bad’. “Instead, such a ‘subversion of the subversion’ exposes the societal mechanism for what they are, and exemplifies just how deep heteronormativity undermines our everyday lives.”
“There’s a trope where the omega is ‘not like the rest of the girls’, and dislikes going into heat, and actively works to suppress their ‘instincts’, but ends up falling for the alpha and rutting around anyway. Smacks too much of internalized sexism and self-hatred.” (MonaLisa, female, bisexual, 40-50, USA)
