Alpha/Beta/Omega or Alpha/Omega (occasionally Alpha/Beta) is a kink trope wherein some or all people have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system, with the terms originating from animal behaviour research. There may be werewolf, knotting, or other animalistic elements involved, or the characters may be otherwise purely human.

The concepts and behaviors in this story were quite surprising. As the Third Book in the Sealed with a Kiss series there are some characters readers have come to know and love. In this book the Seal team was deployed for most of story. During the time they weren’t overseas to the shock of everyone a civilian Reporter was embedded with the Team. Something that annoyed & angered them all, including the seasoned Reporter, Colin Church, also a former Olympian. He was well versed in international affairs and his best friend was a part of the Seal Team, he’d been assigned to.
”Ciel,I need you to breathe. You are in labor,You are 5cm dilated. However,Your water has not broken yet. To speed things a long,I must break your water. Prop your legs up on these pillows,If you please.” He says before reaching behind Ciel and grabbing two pillows. He gently lifts Ciel’s legs and slides the pillows under them,Propping them up before getting up and searching the drawers for anything he can sterilize to break Ciel’s water.
When he figured his break had lasted long enough, he hefted himself back up out of the coral and stretched, groaning with delight as his back cracked. Turning upright, he continued to swim, swimming a little closer toward the surface as he felt along his gravid stomach. It’d been a long day of swimming, although he was glad to get up and moving.
“With fic largely being written and consumed by male attracted cis-females…isn’t it likely they will see themselves in the role of the omega, with possible detrimental effects on their own sense of worth and expectations for relationships with a male/alpha partner? Are omegaverse fics that play up those stereotypes the slash equivalent of ‘After’ or Fifty Shades of Grey?” (hiddensymposiarch, female, bisexual, 30-40, Canada)

Niso shook his head quickly. “You have to push it out, the head’s out Francis!” He said, reaching into the water and holding the baby’s head still with one hand, his other holding Francis’ swollen stomach. “Push!” “Tch..!” Francis gritted his teeth. He quickly drew breath, biting back a cry as his anal muscles contracted, sealing itself around the baby’s neck. The next time he pushed, a fresh peal of pain bloomed in his anus from when both the baby’s shoulders were battering against his opening. The grip on his knees weakened as shooting pains radiated up and down his spine, his teeth baring as he pushed, hard. “Just one more..” Francis muttered darkly then heaved, feeling the baby’s shoulder slide all the way out before it was followed by the rest of its body. Dazed, he fell back and panted in exhaustion. Niso quickly caught the baby and pulled it out of the water, surprised to see it didn’t have an umbilical cord. He held it close to himself and looked at Francis, shock on his face that Francis had just given birth.
The mobile 4G on my phone is extremely slow and it takes a while for my Google results to load, putting me in suspense and causing me to over think the situation. When the results do load I don’t even look at the top three articles, I end up clicking the link that reads ‘more news for Harry Styles’. As I wait for that to load I end up eating all the grapes quickly, and Louis surprisingly sits across from me. The thought of him being so close to me gives me nervous butterflies and I honestly have no idea how to contain them.
Dane’s company is making headlines for all the wrong reasons, as rumors of nefarious activity have begun to fly; and though he is a strong, commanding and charismatic alpha, even Dane cannot stand against the slanderous onslaught that threatens to take do…wn his business.
I don’t think I’ve read any other omegaverse piece with such nuance and depth. The Alpha-Beta-Omega dynamics are central to the story and potential relationships but not overstated or overly used as explicit sizzle.
Francis bit his lips, shaking his head. “..No,” he answered truthfully. His whole entire backside ached and he was also having difficulty regaining breath, his swollen womb was placing too much pressure on his diaphragm. Groaning, Francis rubbed one hand over his stomach and held the other to the middle of his back where the pain was strongest. Whining and groaning, he rested his chin against Niso’s shoulder. “I think..I wanna get out..c-change positions..”Niso nodded and looked down at him, wrapping his arms around him to help him up. “Alright, back to the bed?” He asked softly, helping to lift Francis up out of the tub. He could tell from the swell of Francis’ stomach that the younger male wasn’t done, and he cringed at the thought that Francis might not have the motivation to keep pushing. Francis pressed his lips together. “Y-Yeah. But hurry, I can feel it moving down..” He let Niso help him to his feet, swaying a little as he spread his legs and shuffled towards the bedroom, his waddle especially pronounced now. A new bolt of pain laced through him each time his hips were jostled. They were barely to the bed when another contraction tore down his lower back and abdomen, forcing a surprised cry from his lips. His legs trembled and he practically fell into Niso’s arms.
I read a very wide range of books, and I bought this one thinking it would be a trashy novella, a light flimsy read after finishing a heavy series. I was absolutely shocked, because this novella is really well written. Everything about this book at first glance, the themes, the tags, the premise, even the blurb, appearance and the author’s alias promises trash, and instead the writing is fairly high quality, with solid characters that originate from a very cliche archetype but which are multilayered and nuanced. Even the very standard Alpha-meets-fated-mate plot is executed surprisingly well, with the central relationship being dynamic and determined by the interaction of the two main characters, who are both struggling with a sexual attraction that is foisted on them by their wolves. The underlying sense of realism in the characters, their point of view, and the world in which the story occurs, really set the story and its drama apart from melodramatic romantic renditions of similar plots.
“Do it,” whispered Sam, nudging you towards his brother. You groaned and slapped him on the arm. You looked at the older Winchester and then quickly looked away. Dean was currently on the couch, looking through newspapers for the next hunt.
Now let me see if I can properly do this book justice. Starting it I thought best case scenario I would enjoy it enough, and worse case I would have to find something else to review. But neither of those happened, because I not only enjoyed it, I flippin LOVED it. The world building this author created hooked me from the first page. It was so intriguing that I finished it in one sitting, yes me who wasn’t quite sure I would like mpreg book, read it in one day. And it’s not exactly a short book.
