I can’t say enough good about my reactions to this book. I loved reading how River and Ash grew up to be in love with each other, but life separated them for over 20 years. Despite the separation, the core of who each of them were, remained the same, and they were able to reconnect quickly.
All logic told Spy no, it would not be a good idea due to their jobs and current living situations. But… looking down at her, having had her in him for nine months (even if he had hated the whole experience) then finally getting to see her… he just did not want to give her up. He couldn’t. Was it selfish? Probably. Most likely. A war zone was certainly no place for children. Spy knew that from personal experience. If he really loved this child, then shouldn’t he want her to be safe? There had to be a way to have it both ways. To send her away somewhere while he and Sniper fought, then bring her back when the fighting was over. Of course, Miss Pauling! She could organise babysitters to come and take care of her during working hours away from 2Fort. Forge documents so no one would know he was her father. He finally knew the answer.
So, the problem seems to be – as ren points out in his quote above – that there simply aren’t enough fics featuring trans characters, and since Omgaverse fics that have male Omegas deal with, basically, men with uteruses who can give birth, the popularity of A/B/O is grating in light of the little interest in trans characters outside this genre.

Among those elements are MPREG, going into heat, a hierarchical biology-based class/caste system, and knotting. Other tropes dealing with “a basic biology they cannot deny” include pon farr, the Sime~Gen universe, and some elements of Sentinel AU.
There’s a thing called an ‘omega drop’ and it is bad for the said secondary gender. Aside from it happening when the said omega is rejected or away from their love ones and they get depressed, what other effects occur to them?

“Here I was thinking I might get lucky….that still being like this was a bad nightmare I could wake up from…” The omega grumbled, hand going to support his stomach as he tried to shift against the folds of the bedding.

Unaware that he was being watched, Adam had got the egg out, before not able to catch his breathe as the next egg was starting to crown. After pushing for a few minutes or what seemed like forever to him, Adam could barely feel the egg sliding out. Catching his breathe in between pushing, Adam reached his hand trying to feel the egg. Groaning, Adam could only feel the tip of the egg out, figuring it had to be one of the biggest one yet.
the main characters are kinda funny and very serious. feeling like you are being forced to “stay in the closet” because of family obligations is not funny, though. i loved how his brother reassured him and let him know that its ok to be yourself. the sex was great, the little bit of violence was not over-done, and the hea was also great. all in all a great trilogy, so far. i cant wait to read the third book.

Some quotes have already pointed towards reasons this trope can polarise as powerfully as it does. In this final part I’d like to take a closer look at what my participants cited when asked about what they like and dislike about this trope, which frequently surpasses simple squicks and kinks and touches topics like sexism, homo- and transphobia, to name but a few.
