I only read the first four novellas in the Author, Preston Walkers “MPREG Romance Bundle.” And as a big fan of this particular genre of writing I thoroughly enjoyed them all. “Uriel’s Forest” is quite the tale and gave me a lot to think about long after I finished reading it. I read the “bonus book” included in the collection (Regal Bloodlines) a while ago and wrote a separate review which I posted on Amazon. All in all I can highly recommend the first four books for anyone liking very well written, imaginative m/m romance, mpreg books.
Roam is a very brave wolf who lost his mate before giving birth, so now he is a single father trying to love again and not get his heart broken in the process. Tarly (what a cute name!) is sick and is so afraid of hurting others that he has hidden himself from the world, but now is bravely trying to take control of his life.
Carlos has agreed to be James’ sex buddy, but after a while, things turn bad. Carlos loves James but…something weird is happening to Carlos…several weird things… JARLOS! and maybe some Kogan later on…
Something I’ve been wondering about is if the Mom is an Alpha and the Dad is an omega who gives birth to the kid? I know Alpha females have semen and omega males have wombs. Chika’s parents in Sayonara Alpha were a couple of this sort and I’m curious as to how this would work, somebody explain please
Dean fell in love with him, and even once he regained his strength and returned home to the castle, he continued to visit Castiel in secret. When Castiel told him he was pregnant, a quirk of his magical biology, Dean was overjoyed until the reality of his father’s decree dawned upon him.
Dean knew it was going to hurt and he didn’t want to hurt the child. He turned his eyes to the other archangels in the room for help and all three of them instantly straightened out to take the child.
Joel smiled as he saw a small egg breach the man’s opening and he cruelly spread his legs open widely, looking at the heavy dilated hole. Fluid started dripping from the hole as the man moaned and groaned against the contractions.
Another respondent who pointed towards a certain ambiguity in their dislike for A/B/O is Abby (female, bisexual, 18-25, UK). She criticises “the societal sexism towards Omegas or the internalised sexism. Feels too much like homophobia and sexism rolled into one, which I just can’t stand.” Yet she continues: “It’s funny because I actually enjoy the societal sexism in PWP fics. Like, as a kink that is role-play or just PWP that you can interpret as role-play, I enjoy it (not the internalised homophobia/sexism though – like I mentioned earlier, it’s a complete no-no for me) but having an au where the society treats Omegas as second-class citizens feels too much like an interpretation of our current society and I read fanfic to escape it.”
Twas The Night Before ChristmasI sighed as I walked into my house. My 9-month pregnant belly led the way. In my hands are bags of presents that I have to wrap and put under my Christmas tree for family who are coming over in the morning.
Consequently, when the possibly highly romantic trope of bonding is drained of its consensual nature, it can become a squick, as is the case for Mae (female, asexual, demiromantic, 15-18, USA): “Forced Bondings are the literal worse. The concept of heats, I can stomach. Knotting? Great. Mpreg? Even better. But I typically refuse to read fics, even for my OTPs, if one of them is forced into the bond. It’s a little different for arranged bondings between families where they rebel together and manage to fall for one another in the process, but full-on forced bonding is a no-go.”
He should be happy, at least, that’s what everyone keeps telling him. They call him selfish, ungrateful and arrogant. What they don’t know is that he’s slowly but surely falling apart – caught up in a downward spiral – and he’s not even sure he can save himself anymore.
All the boys do lately is fight. To get them working like a team again, Gustavo orders them to go on a camping trip. Soon things go horribly wrong. They will have to work together or they might not survive…
Summary: In the south lies a werewolf kingdom existing within an ancient forest of giant trees, the golden city of the nobles and royalty lying between the edges of the forest and where the endless sea of sand begins. While to north lies the vampire kingdom, dwelling under the shadow of the mountains and by the shores of the sea. Both kingdoms have been at war since their ancestors first sailed over from the west. Now, thousands of years later- there has been an uneasy peace spanning three centuries.
Dean strained against his bonds until they broke. The moment they were gone he marched up straight to his brother, ready to tear him a new one. Of course, the annoying, wingless, piece of shit got between Dean and his quarry.
“I-It hurts! Agh!” the man screamed, panting harshly as the next contractions came on top of each other, barely giving him enough time to breathe. He rubbed his belly frantically in an effort to soothe the tight band that refused to go away but to no avail.
I had some problems with the way that Derrick reacted in this book. Why would he assume that Rowan was a hardened criminal in the beginning of the book when they both were in the same jail cell and Rowan says that he was tresspassing. It was like Derrick considered that akin to a battery charge. Then, when Rowan explains how he’s been taking on extra delivery jobs for his boss that may have been morally questionable, weren’t clearly illegal, Derrick again takes it so hard that he wonders if he can trust someone so prone to breaking the law. WHO DOES THAT?! Why wouldn’t Derrick give Rowan the benefit of the doubt immediately that he was being used, and not assume that he was betraying Derrick?
Joel tugged on the egg and it slid out into his hands. He cleaned it and placed it with the rest of the eggs before noticing the man’s sweaty, heavily pregnant belly tightening and the next egg started to crown at his opening.
Alois seeing Claude come this way pushing a cart he narrowed his eyes pushing Ciel into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. “What do you want!” Claude rolled his eyes “I’ve come to give you and Ciel some t-” he started but was interrupted “We don’t want any of your crappy tea!” Alois grabbed a cup and threw the whole cup at Claude which he easily dodged.
MPREG.Kogan/Jarlos. The guys are flying to New York to do a concert, but Logan has to stay behind since he isn’t feeling well. What he thinks is a stomach bug turns into something he never expected, and Kendall gets a Big Time surprise when he comes home.
Six Degrees of Separation by testosterone_tea – Sherlock highkey wants to meet John but treats it all like a ridiculous experiment to stay cool, I could kill him, he’s so ridiculous. (testosterone_tea is awesome, their fics need more love)
Summary: When Yuuri calls Viktor to the ice rink, Viktor assumed it was for more training, but in fact Yuuri has something important to tell his idol and lover. Yuuri didn’t know what to expect when he confessed, but he didn’t expect what he did get.
A truly wretched book. Everything seemed designed to annoy me from the fact that there were zero women in the universe to the unlikable main characters and cutesy made up terms like “alphahole” and “omegin.”
My fandom, coming through with the Omegaverse smut one shot that’s like, #2 in the entire fandom on kudos haha. It’s pretty hot. Lots of epithets and explicit language, I think it’s a sin. It’s called, apropriately: Just Awful. lol linkao3(2769194)
I’m a curious sort of person and I couldn’t let this just sit without exploring it further, so I began reaching out on social media to find out why we like this sort of obscure subgenre. Through Twitter I was getting a lot of amazing feedback, but a lot of people don’t feel comfortable discussing it so openly so I set up a survey where people could anonymously explain why this genre is so appealing to them. The responses were incredible. What struck me was not only the similarities among our responses, but also the rare response that made the experience personal for that one respondent alone.
I can’t say enough good things about this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it in a way that I rarely get to experience with omegaverse / mpreg books. (Please note that omegaverse / mpreg is my favorite trope, so I do truly love the storytelling aspect of this sub genre. This book simply stands above many others in the category.) The level of complexity and uncertainty about how the story would resolve really had me on the edge of my seat the entire book. I was tense and nervous but it made every sweet moment so much more meaningful. I am not sure if that was how it was written or if that was just my experience but it really made my heart happy to read how the relationship between Ellis and Reece evolved.
At the infirmary, both Sniper and Heavy helped Spy onto the operating table. Spy then proceeded to get on all fours again, rocking himself back and fourth. He then lowered his head and shoulders to the table and started moaning like an injured animal. It was then Medic showed up in his full medical attire.
The trope spread rapidly beyond SPN and J2, and by 2013 A/B/O was so saturated within fandom culture that Kristina Busse included the essay “Pon Farr, Mpreg, and the rise of the Omegaverse” in Anne Jamison’s fanfiction academic anthology, Fic: Why Fanfiction Is Taking Over the World.
I won’t get into spoilers, I’m just going to say there is some drama in this story, it gets resolved in a very satisfying matter. There’s a bit of a meltdown, but it fits the narrative. The characters act like adults and talk to each other, what a concept! Yes, I’m being sarcastic because I’m tired of so many stories (in general) when characters forget to use their words with one another.
Namjoon agrees. “Jeon Jungkook was small and meek. Everyone was surprised when we heard he was sent away for the initiation ritual because he wasn’t strong enough to be a threat to Head Alpha Jeon so why send him away?”
