They both know that the mirror in the room is a fake one and that they’re both being watched. Surprisingly, it’s Hux that breaks the silence first. He just lets out a small, broken ‘Kylo?’ and Ben can’t help but wander what he’s been put through before he ended up in the interogation room. The feelings come rushing back. This fiery desire to protect and to love. To have and to hold. It’s tempting. But it’s the path of the Dark. Right?
I love this series but this was the best one yet. It’s absolutely impossible not to fall in love with Karter and Jax. Karter’s transformation is wonderful and it made my heart so happy to seem him become a good alpha. This story is a tear jerker and I found myself needing tissues throughout it… But it was so worth those emotions. Such an amazing omegaverse story. I wish I could give it more than five stars.
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It’s the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.
He jerked his hand back with a gasp. He was in labor, he was giving birth! He groaned at a contraction and clutched his pregnant stomach with a sob. “Y-You’re coming…!” He moaned, feeling the babies inside twist and prepare to come out. The one in his birth canal was just a couple pushes away from being crowned.
Wyatt’s attempts at mending the pair’s friendship prove disastrous, and when he finally learns the truth about the night of the accident, Wyatt is forced to make an impossible decision that may end up placing his brother’s very life on the line.
Spoiler: On top of a good insta-mate bear shifter story, the author adds a hot lumbersexual and mpreg in a very readable and decently written story – nice work for topics that often veer into incredibly cheesey, simplistic, or sex-focused smutty reads.
Look at the dates. My friend posted the original almost a whole year prior to this being posted. If you want more like this, please go to her page and see the full story, and others like it with her characters Francis and Niso. I also have mpreg birth stories if you’re seeking them.
When Mamrie simultaneously enters her 30s and finds herself single for the first time since college, the world is suddenly full of possibilities. Emboldened by the cool confidence that comes with the end of one’s 20s plus the newfound independence of an attachment-free lifestyle, Mamrie commits herself to living life with even more spirit, adventure, and heart than before.
Or at least they didn’t in Dallas Summer’s world – until a nasty encounter in Central Park shatters that notion forever. Dallas finds his life flipped upside down when a sexy stranger knocks on his door.
WARNING: SPAM-SCAMS!!!There are companies who target inexperienced/hopeful writers, often approaching them through scam campaigns like this one on dA: http://laurythompson.deviantart.com/ . Almost 3000 identical messages left in a single day. Yeah, that’s a LOT of GENIUS. There was another I found, fortunately banned already, by the same person.
You can add books with characters that have animal characteristics but don’t actually shift so please coyote packs etc. (Mainly, don’t add werewolf romances since there’s just so many and are so similar. You can add exceptions to shifter romance such as Stephanie Burke’s Absolute Perfection.)
Just as he got into the circle he felt something warm and sticky wetting his pants. What the hell? That was the last coherent thought he had before he felt the excoriating pain in his abdomen. Holy shit, it’s true that, due to the stress of Dean dying and disappearing, he had had pains but the doctor had reassured him the baby was fine, even if it was kinda small. He knew what was happening now; he was in labor.
Eren’s words were mumbled, his eyes unfocused from his exhaustion. Sliding from the bed, Levi rushed to grab two thick towels and then back to Eren’s side, his mate was still smiling that dopey smile, eyes not moving from the boys at all.
Joel smiled as he saw a small egg breach the man’s opening and he cruelly spread his legs open widely, looking at the heavy dilated hole. Fluid started dripping from the hole as the man moaned and groaned against the contractions.
Aaron North, on the other hand, doesn’t believe in all that mumbo-jumbo. Spending his days writing snarky, skeptical articles for anti-paranormal magazines, Aaron’s life is consumed by logic and what’s directly in front of him. Love at first sight? Sheer nonsense. Fate? He’s not buying it. The fact that his latest gig-an article setting out to debunk a haunted bed & breakfast in the quaint town of Crosswinds-thrusts him directly into the path of sexy, free-spirited Indigo is just a coincidence.
Matthew Bruner is a bear shifter destined for greatness. Or so that’s what he’s always been told. As the next in line to become alpha of his clan, Matthew’s days of singlehood are drawing to a close. Long since committed to a prearranged mating, Matthew finds himself feeling trapped and, worse, afraid. In a desperate attempt to prolong his freedom, Matthew flees his family’s ancestral home and heads to the nearest city. It’s there that he meets Ezra Tier, a tiger shifter with a bad streak the size of a mountain.
Love this series. Shifters and mpreg are always great stories. Rowan finds the well and sees Derrick! He is living a dangerous life when he meets Derrick. Of course things run the way they do and Derrick is pregnant and Rowan is in trouble. HEA for all.
The problem turns out to be an unmated, nearly in-heat omega orphan who Dex and his husband rescued off the street last night. The even bigger problem is that Tarek feels the mating bond for this terrified omega immediately—and he’s pretty sure the omega feels it, too. But Braun hates alphas as a general rule, and no way is he giving in to the bond. All mating leads to is violence and suffering, so no thank you. But Tarek’s gentle kindness slips under Braun’s emotional shields, and Braun begins to want. To dream. All Braun has ever known is violent alphas, but Tarek is determined to make Braun trust him—and to trust in the idea of their happily ever after.
Author’s summary: The story goes that, the first time you meet your ‘soulmate’, the universe will give you a sign in what should be the most obvious way – somewhere in your immediate vicinity the word ‘soulmate’ will appear. … A fact that causes havoc the day that up and coming actor, Stiles Stilinski holds up a bottle emblazoned with the word ‘soulmate’ in the middle of a press conference where Derek Hale is working as a photographer, in the middle of the worst day of his life.
“Time to push Sam, give a big one,” Sam pushed with all that was worth and suddenly he felt empty and sore. There was a moment of silence and then a sharp cry filled the bathroom. Sam felt all exhaustion leave him and he sat up by himself. He felt Dean’s hands on his back, helping him with support.
A shoulder squeezed out of him slowly and he shuddered at the pain of being stretched further, but the egg was still wedged tightly in his anus despite it’s little progress. He continued to bear down, crying out as both the baby and the egg were pushed out slowly together, forcing him to spread his legs even further to make room for both.
Stiles and Derek are getting along, but they’re not a family, and they’re sure as hell not mates. Christ, they’re basically just two stupid guys who happened to get pregnant because of a full moon and sheer dumb luck.
The story did not deliver quite as much as I would have preferred, as some of the “world/setting” reveal was rather bland, and the overarching background plot (a Triad+Omega sent by an exiled/almost powerless goddess) was too huge to be easily acceptable. This mega-story certainly is intriguing, but it came across as a bit too blasé for me. (I guess I expect a long, detailed and provocative exploration for such an epic storyline.) Still, this level of drama separates this work from others that are a bit more “mundane” in their treatment of Werewolf-human interaction.
