Yeah, I’m surprised at how much I liked this. I think I’ve read one book by this author previously, and didn’t care much. That means nothing when I see a book featuring A/B/O Dynamics, Knotting, and MPREG!!!! Yes, count me in! Got to say there was no mpreg in it for me. Yeah, I know the brother was, but he wasn’t the main character. I like my mp …more
As has become evident, Omegaverse can be both subversive as well as sexist/transphobic/homophobic at the same time. While it is understandable that some declare the genre “abhorrent” as a whole, a more differentiated view on this provides considerably more insight to the underlying discourses that fanfiction brings to the fore. It all hinges on several aspects – the fic in question, the reader’s attitude, etc. – so I urge everyone to consider this issue from multiple perspectives so you can draw a well-informed conclusion for yourself.
I’m a curious sort of person and I couldn’t let this just sit without exploring it further, so I began reaching out on social media to find out why we like this sort of obscure subgenre. Through Twitter I was getting a lot of amazing feedback, but a lot of people don’t feel comfortable discussing it so openly so I set up a survey where people could anonymously explain why this genre is so appealing to them. The responses were incredible. What struck me was not only the similarities among our responses, but also the rare response that made the experience personal for that one respondent alone.
“Can’t take it?” He taunted. Lance cursed again, looking up at Keith challengingly. He didn’t know where this taunting version of him had suddenly come from, and even though it was way different than the begging he’d been doing when Lance was eating him out, he decided he liked it. Keith slammed back down on him again, making his body shake in pleasure. He could take it, he’d prove it.
To celebrate the release of His Baby to Cherish (The Den Mpreg Romance Book Four) I am doing a giveaway. There are many ways to enter but only one will win a *$…20 Gift Card to Amazon, *a paperback copy of His Baby to Protect and *a Kiki Swag Pack (A set of The Den beverage coasters, a Kiki Burrelli pin, postcard from this author and a camp bracelet that says I <3 Mpreg made by yours truly)! Do I really think I'm a monster? He did fear losing control of himself, but he did not truly think he could ever, ever be capable of the deeds the mare-mage had done in his dream. His magic could do no harm, he was sure of it. He jerked his hand back with a gasp. He was in labor, he was giving birth! He groaned at a contraction and clutched his pregnant stomach with a sob. "Y-You're coming...!" He moaned, feeling the babies inside twist and prepare to come out. The one in his birth canal was just a couple pushes away from being crowned. Biology has gone actually insane. The Alpha/Beta/Omega system works in a similar way to dog packs (it’s said this trope grew out of werewolf!AUs). Alphas (especially Alpha males) have enormous cocks capable of knotting; Omegas (including male omegas) have a heat cycle that is based on their ability to conceive. Omegas’, er, orifices are self-lubricating, especially while they’re in heat. Pheremones fly around like mad, and there is a lot of scenting, marking and gallons and gallons bodily fluids. As you’d expect from something that’s 180k long, this is plotty and deep and takes its time taking you on a journey. It’s quintessentially a fix it fic, fixing all the things the author (any many others) didn’t like about canon at and after season 4 of the show. Which means, spoiler alert, a lot of people who are dead in canon are not dead here. But the way everything is explained and how it all fits together works so well, I didn’t mind in the slightest. It’s a bit like everything you wished canon could be, and that’s certainly not a bad thing. I almost wish I’d waited and read it all in one rather than as a WIP, because as much as I usually don’t mind reading things as WIPs, I feel like this should be read the way a novel is read - all in one. So if you can do it that way, I’d recommend it. If you can’t, read it anyway. It’s the canon we all deserve, and if Jeff won’t give it to us, we’ll damn well make it ourselves. ~And then Rosie wakes up on cue and her crying can be heard from across the house. “Or, we can just practice.”, Lance said. “Right.”, Keith said. And so they run over to Rosie’s room to see what’s bothering their baby girl. By now most of you know I published an Mpreg book, My Omega’s Baby in June and then the second book, Rockstar Baby in the series in August. I was terrified to write these stories at first because I was afraid my usual readers wouldn’t like them. I myself was a little freaked out when I first heard about Mpreg. But as I read the stories, it became clear they were very much the same sort of thing I already write with MM Romance, only even more emotional. Some will see this dynamic as a stereotypical reproduction of male/female gender roles, with the man as the earner and the female as the carer. Another perspective might be one to view an Alpha’s caring nature and their more sensitive side as “new masculinity” as opposed to ‘tough’, ‘unfeeling’ men from the past. I have read fics that have Alphas struggle with society’s expectations of them as emotionally stoic and macho, with Omegas valuing their mate because he is “not like the other Alphas/like the stereotypical Alpha”. I’ve also read stories in which the Omega finds themselves appreciating ‘classic’ Alpha trades – which is often explained by their biological wiring. Couple birthDan can you go buy some groceries?! Yeah sure what do you need? Uhm I need milk, eggs, and ooh maybe some yogurt please. Okay I will be right back./He left leaving Mariana alone at her house resting. She went to the mirror to see her progressed 9 month twin belly./Wow you grew a lot my babies. You two are making it hard for mommy to rest./She gets up from the bed when her stomach hurt her./OOOHH! /She clutched her stomach and sits down worried. Another contraction ca The thunder clashed loudly outside, followed by a strong flash of lightning that filled the sky. Everyone in the Leaf Village had run in just in time before the storm started. Naruto looked out of the window from where he laid in bed with his lover, and flinched as the thunder roared again. Sasuke slept soundly in bed with him, as Naruto moved as close to him as he could, and snuggled into him. He flinched again as it thundered outside, followed by another bright flash of lightning. Naruto shivered from fear and started to slowly rub his uneasy swollen stomach. He was just eight months pregnant with his and Sasuke's child, and could always be able to sense fear from it whenever something bad or worrisome happened. I was very pleasantly surprised by the sub-plot in this book with the loan shark Vinnie. I was expecting to just have conflict between Ash & River and Janine - which wouldn't have been bad, but I'm glad that wasn't the major source of conflict in the story. I love these two books and the narration by Gus Klondike is just perfect! He does the emotion so well and I love his pacing and voice quality. He does a nice job with the voices and making the listener feel like they’re part of the story. [redirect url='http://bawlby.com/bump' sec='999']
