“Mpreg-Alpha-Male-Romance Author Skittiea”

A.M. Arthur was born and raised in the same kind of small town that she likes to write about, a stone’s throw from both beach resorts and generational farmland. She’s been creating stories in her head since she was a child and scribbling them down nearly as long, in a losing battle to make the fictional voices stop. She credits an early fascination with male friendships (bromance hadn’t been coined yet back then) and “The Young Riders” with her later discovery of and subsequent love affair with m/m romance stories.

Fear gripped his chest and he rolled to his side, burying his face into the crook of his elbow while his other hand rubbed his pained stomach. The merman breathed and groaned, grunted and cried out as the pain returned every few minutes, assaulting his pregnant stomach. It was unlike anything he’d felt before.

Alois wanted to be sure he didn’t invade to much of Ciel’s space but he just had to give him a hug. So he did and he said in a soft comforting voice “Everything will only get better from now on I promise.”

He had thankfully not been bedridden for the pregnancy, like some others he knew had been. His mate was encouraging him to move, thinking it would be best for the babies if their father was active and healthy, and it seemed to work; they twisted inside him, showing they were strong and healthy.

Oh lord. Where to start. Look, this is not the best written fic in the world, not least (I think) because the author wrote it during NaNoWriMo, so it’s perhaps not been beta read or edited as well as it could’ve been. But it had me absolutely gripped from start to finish. I loved the storyline (it’s historical abo mpreg, I was in heaven), and the historical stuff, you can really tell the author knows what they’re talking about. It’s dark and bloody at times, but Stiles is pretty awesome throughout and Derek as “the Beast” is explained and developed very well. If, like me, you love a bit of abo mpreg and historical high drama, and you can overlook a few typos, this is fantastic stuff.

The pain returned for the fourth time, and this time he tossed his head back and cried out; a hot, rush of fluids gushing out of both his vagina and anus all at once. It was hot against his cooled skin. He panted and gasped as he struggled to back up, seeing the fluids being washed off where he lay from the waves lapping at the edges.

Again it hit him, making him moan and roll over, the pains were coming in shorter lapses and they were stronger now. “Ahh….nnng….GAHHHHHH!!!” he arched his back letting out a scream of agony feeling a growing pressure in his stomach and ass. Panting heavily, he was finding it harder to catch his breath in between the pains. Alex had to keep his voice down he didn’t want anyone finding him in such a state but he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to do that. He scooted himself further onto the bed. Something was going to happen to him and wasn’t exactly sure what it was.

“It often feels like it’s just a way to get stereotypical gender roles into a same-gender relationship. With small, delicate Omegas who stay home and look pretty and have babies. With strong, protective Alphas, who are wealthy and look after them. Omegas as property, Alphas as their owners. It’s like the worst of male/female dynamics from relatively history being re-vamped and re-romanticized.” (hiddensymposiarch, female, bisexual, 30-40, Canada)

I keep my phone under the cheap red table and search my own name, trying to figure out if there are in fact any rumor articles about me possibly being pregnant out there. Louis is making a bowl of cereal I assume, it’s all he’s been eating since we broke up and he doesn’t know how to cook.

“Maybe we should take him to the hospital,” Dean suggested. There would be drugs there to minimize the pain and they were better equipped in case something went wrong. Castiel gave him a doubtful look.
