Luke has escaped, leaving Hux to make a decision: To follow or to stay in the First Order and follow his childhood dreams and ideals through? His mind is made up after being tortured by an increasingly unstable Kylo Ren and realising how much Luke and his children mean to him.
“Weird reproduction of the patriarchy? if that makes sense? I hate Omegaverse fics where biological determinism applies and all the Alphas are big strong manly men with giant cocks who want to dominate and consume and all the Omegas are tiny and delicate and submissive. Gross gender dynamics irl, absolutely no reason to reproduce them in speculative fiction. Again, I can kind of see how this might be a fantasy for some people, but it really rubs me the wrong way. I just prefer relationships where both partners are equal and any kind of powerplay is short-term and well negotiated in advance.” (Em, female, bi, 25-30, USA)
When John Wells is called to Washington, he’s sure it’s to investigate the carnage in Dallas, but it isn’t. The former CIA director, now president, Vinnie Duto has plenty of people working in Texas. He wants Wells to go to Colombia. An old asset there has information to share – and it will lead Wells to the deadliest mission of his life.
Former Special Forces soldier Isaac Ward has been searching for something to belong to ever since his mother kicked him out on the streets as a teen. He believes he has finally found this in a fierce annual competition where the end prize is becoming one of the few elite humans to be selected and turned into a werewolf of the Winter’s Hollow Pack. When the alpha of the Winter’s Hollow Pack offers Isaac the opportunity to bypass the Trials and become a wolf shifter immediately, Isaac is shocked to learn the price.
Sherlock had not come to the Watson household with anything but professional intentions. But as he sat there and watched John compulsively run his hands over his swelling middle, he felt those intentions begin to twist and grow into something else entirely.
Roam is a very brave wolf who lost his mate before giving birth, so now he is a single father trying to love again and not get his heart broken in the process. Tarly (what a cute name!) is sick and is so afraid of hurting others that he has hidden himself from the world, but now is bravely trying to take control of his life.
Of course Mpreg stories would have to be slightly more emotional because they’re dealing with pregnancy. In my stories, the men are almost always shocked by the pregnancy. That, to me, adds a humorous element to the story that I love. Then of course we get to see the characters grow closer as the alpha becomes more protective of his pregnant omega. Mpreg definitely tugs at the heart strings and allows the author and the reader to go deeper with the feels.
Honestly, I really don’t know what to think about this book. First the title, Bound by the Fang. Nowhere in this book is there any mention about what “Bound by the Fang” would mean exactly or any hint to it. This might not bother anyone else, but for me…yeah. I need to know these things.
Lance could hardly even recall how he got in this position. One moment they had just been training against each other on the training deck, and in the next, Keith had attacked Lance and practically dragged him to his room. Looking back, maybe he should’ve noticed that Keith had been acting differently that day. Sure, the boy was always angsty and emo, or at least in Lance’s eyes he was, but he had been especially irritable all morning.
It’s at this point that the book shifts direction! There are forces at work against Jerricho and Rex who want to see the heir to the throne removed and are not beyond murder and kidnapping to achieve their goals…but that’s not all they want. These people are taking and using demons for their own profit. Imprisoning them and experimenting on them, turning them into sex slaves and worse!
He’d done it; he’d given birth for the first time and his mate had been there to help him through it; albeit a bit late. He looked down at their newborns, their cute little tails swaying back and forth as they fed.
Ciel’s contractions are getting faster and faster now,As well as all the more painful. At this rate,It be at any moment that he will give birth. Sebastian helps Ciel up and leads him around the room. night when they would kiss and plot Snoke’s demise together. He remembers it all, their five years together and all the plans they had for the future, together. But he’d thrown that all away when he’d denied the call of the Dark, when he’d refused to kill his own father back on Starkiller base. Ben stands and stare at Hux for a little while. Hux stares right back at him. He doesn’t have his little smirk on his face, the one he only reserved for Kylo. His face his blank, his eyes tired.
Which makes it so sad that I didn’t like this story as much as I thought I would. This is now the 2nd book this week that I’ve read by authors I love (and would follow to the end of the earth) where the story didn’t work for me. The first book was Wheels Up by Annabeth Albert. My issues are kind of the same with both books.
Tarly and Roam are absolutely great for each other. Tarly has a rare condition that makes it hard to control his shift and wolf in stressful situations. So for years Tarly has secluded himself from everyone and his only relationships are held on omega date. Once an omega requests to meet in person Tarly bails. Roam finds out he’s pregnant and waits to tell his mate, however while waiting for his mate to make it home he plans a wonderful dinner and waits. Only he receives a call from his sister in law only to find out that his mate died in a car accident. Roam and Tarly meet on omega date. Roam is the only omega that Tarly has ever wanted to get better for, not only that but the only one he has ever met in person. Great read I received an ARC and voluntarily left a review enjoy.
When Braun escapes from the place that was supposed to provide him a safe environment to live, he is nearly raped by a couple of Alphas. Saved by a married Beta couple they give him shelter and he later meets their Alpha friend Tarek. Braun has a very difficult time accepting that Tarek isn’t like every other Alpha he knows and it takes a long time for him to trust that Tarek wants to take care of him.
“The possibility that bodies aren’t bound by the conceptions of gender and sexuality that society rigidly thrusts upon us. That somewhere there is an extraterrestrial civilization or another dimension or whatever magical creature that effortlessly destroys the gender binary.” -Lina
I really like how the story starts off and that Rian and Taryn’s situations are gradually introduced. However, their problems seem easily resolved not so soon after the fact. Talk about winning the luck lottery! Honestly, I was surprised that Rian’s infertility issue was not made into a bigger deal than what it was. Especially with the Pack Wars going on, getting married and procreation is a must in their society. Therefore, one would think that there would be some conflict at least between the parents (matchmaking) and the Council (pushes for births to build their Alpha Guard), but sadly no. I do wish that the author went into more detail about the Pack Wars and how they select their Council. I can only assume I will get the answers I need in the next book.
Eight years ago, Eli gave up his future as a veterinarian because of a blue line on a pregnancy test. Now a single dad to the best little boy in the world, he’s working at an animal shelter and trying his hardest to ignore the small town gossip that follows him and his son around. Contrary to popular belief, he does know who the other father is – the irresistible alpha from his youth. But Matt’s upper class family doesn’t think an omega is good enough for their son.
Saved is the first book in A.M. Arthur’s new Breaking Free series. I have been eagerly awaiting this book and it definitely did not disappoint. I enjoy an omegaverse story and I have really liked much of Arthur’s other work, so this seemed like a perfect match.
Jensen just nodded and started the laborious task of shifting himself around on the seat. Half way through twisting round another contraction ripped through his belly, almost sending him tumbling out the open door.
