This was a good read. Braun Etting is an Omega who was raised by a cruel father who abused him. His older brother Kell mated a cruel alpha who abuses him daily, and Braun is terrified of that seemingly inevitable future. When Braun’s father dies in a car crash, leaving Braun an orphan, he’s sent to a halfway house for omegas. But on his fourth night there, he witnesses a horrifying crime that sends him fleeing to the streets alone and edging into his first heat. Tarek Bloom is an twenty-eight year-old unmated alpha. When he walks into his friend Dex house he meets Braun. Dex and his husband rescued Braun from the streets. Tarek feels the mating bond for Braun immediately and he’s pretty sure that he feels it. Braun hates alphas as a general rule, and no way is he giving in to the bond. This a good read this was my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
He could feel the movement of the babies inside, which made a smile creep it’s way onto his face. Each time he felt their movement inside his distended belly, it made everything worth it; he’d soon be a father. He turned his body so his stomach was now above himself while he swam, and he rubbed the orb admiring it’s growth.
One aspect I hadn’t considered until I began to explore the reasons people enjoy the genre is its relation to the trans community. While most MPREG fics feature cis men, it seems there’s still something about it that appeals to the transgender and genderfluid community. I was happy to hear their reasons and look at it from a different perspective.
“What up?! WHAT’S UP?!” Dean’s face was an alarming shade of red, “I’ll tell you what’s up! Our angel friend here just told me he plans to have some sort of angelic insemination to have freakin’ angel babies!!” Castiel gave Dean an unimpressed look, that made Sam almost laugh until his brother turned his angry eyes to him, “AND, he tells me this was your idea!! What the fuck Sam?!”
The blurb for this fired my imagination from the start. In a world where omegas are second-class citizens with few civil rights and almost no protections under the law. Bring it on I thought. I’m ready.
Braun Etting was raised to know his place as an omega by his alpha father’s cruel words and fast fists, and he expects nothing but violence from the alpha who may one day mate him. His older brother Kell mated a cruel alpha who abuses him daily, and Braun is terrified of that seemingly inev …more
The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known…of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect – a man divided in his soul…of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame…and of a struggle between good and evil that will turn church against state, and brother against brother.
A quick read for a novel, this story has a nice range of sweet but intriguing, surprising, and entertaining scenes centered on an arranged match between a city Alpha with a demanding, sophisticated, high-powered business family and a country omega with a loving, domestic family and a shadowed secret. The author starts with an intriguing and eventually dramatic introduction and then weaves scenes of past secrets and yearning dreams into the story of two separated would-be mates. I especially appreciated the depth of the supporting characters, from competitively friendly lawyers, demanding and over-protective fathers, wise and doting mothers, to conflicted music teachers.
↑ The story was a response to Coming Home by Xanthe where these characterizations didn’t impact the social standing of the characters or the kind of jobs they could take; that was criticized as not realistic. (see comments to the original LJ post of Take Clothes Off As Directed)
As the latest contraction gripped her bulging belly, her tail curling of its own accord in reaction to the pain, she groaned, “Not a million times, Tris, maybe just two or three.” Her eyes were scrunched shut in an effort to block everything, including the pain, out.
Now, the angsty one has Prompto out on a photo excursion somewhere on the outskirts of Lucis for a magazine. Prom doesn’t like to be cooped up in the house while he is pregnant so he continues his job (freelance photographer) even when he’s pregnant. So during this photo shoot, Prom’s water breaks and he panics because he is far away from where Noct is at the moment. So he manages to find a place on the trail (like a shed or something) to wait in. He calls Noct and Noct freak out when he learns how far away he is. Prompto is nervous seeing as this is his first pregnancy and he had never even been around a person that has given birth before, so he just starts crying on the phone to Noct about how he’s scared and that he might not be there to help him. Noct gets Gladio and Ignis and they head out right away to find where Prom is.
~Okay, so Keith’s water broke at 41 weeks, which was kind of a relief, because he was kinda worried the baby didn’t wanna come out. But at the same time, terrifying, because it was their first baby and they wanted to make sure she was healthy.
Braun is an unmated Omega in a world of Alphas, Betas and Omegas. Omegas are the lowest of the lowest, and it is totally alright to abuse an omega, since they’re worth nothing in the society A.M. Arthur created.
